Snoopy Island

The sun dawned on another bright and sunny day and a short 60 minute drive puts us on the Indian Ocean (Gulf of Oman), at our favourite snorkelling spot, Snoopy Island.

After the sunrise the guests of the local hotel, Sandy Beach, emerge to enjoy the unique Snoopy-shaped island that is also a beautiful marine preserve.

The underwater photos are courtesy of diving friends but are not enough to do justice to the beauty below.

We were swarmed with all types including tiny wraithes, parrot fish, grouper, barracuda (small), mullet, yellow discus, puffers and many others we could not identify.

Afterward we "roughed" it on the beach, ordering our beverages and sandwiches as we relaxed in the breeze.

If you ever need a break, this place is highly recommended. A quaint mixture of motel rooms and bungaloes on the beach.
