May Day, Changes, Getting Hotter

To all my working friends in Europe and other places, have a good Workers Day holiday. Here we celebrate by just working, but next year they propose to celebrate May 1 too.

I am now working in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, most of the time. I represent a Canadian company from Newfoundland, Cathexis, and are doing a project with a group called CERT here.

It covers RFID, Bluetooth and telematics. Good tech areas that I like.

Here are the links for those interested.

Abu Dhabi is a beautiful city and much more relaxed than Dubai.

It is about 250 km south of Ras Al Khaimah so a bit far for a daily commute. So as many do I book a room in a villa and work it out.

If funds were no problem I would stay at the Emirates Palace Hotel. A top hotel to rival the Burj Al Arab. Rooms start at $550 USD and range up to $13000 USD per night.

For now I just take photos.

The summer is giving us early warning (more than usual) and it is up to 43C (109F) today, and the humidity is starting to build. Oh well, our reverse winter.

And for something different, my niece has photoshopped me into Ontario.

Are you commuting back on the weekends? That is quite a distance. I wonder how many people know that Abu Dhabi is a real city?

A room in a villa sounds a lot lovelier then the hotel though, pictures of that too maybe? Does Alex rent there too?

I am glad you are working at something you enjoy :)
