Facebook

Followed my sister (must be getting old) and am playing in the Facebook sandbox.
Yet another way to be consumed/distracted.

We will see.

The Road Less Travelled

A bright and sunny day and it was time to go to Dibba.
Wadi Baih beckoned and the route over the top (5000 ft) seemed the right way to go.

Sandland Son needed more practice off-roading so off we went.
New Jeep Unlimited in front leading the way.

A stop in a valley to spit the dust out before going on.

Canyons get very narrow and single file is the only way.

However a brief lapse of concentration and the result ....

Piled rock walls are in the wadi that are remnants of the farm terraces that once were.

Imposable barriers except for the Jeep and its solid frame.
First wall was scattered but the second one proved too much.

Tow strap applied ...

And we are out.

A couple of bent tie rods, dented oil pan and a battered front transfer case.
And a dent in SLS bank account but minimized by the fairness of Abdullah's 70's garage.

And then the beach beckons.
